The smell of cardboard, permanent marker & packaging tape were consuming my senses... until... I prepared the bacon for our quick and easy lunch today. Boy oh boy, packing up a home is a lot of work! I really don't want to do this again for a long time. Luckily for us- it's not in our near future as we are very much anticipating settling into our forever dream home shortly. The days of moving around, renting & not being sure where to settle are over! What a grateful feeling that is. Just a few more days of packing & donating and we will seal the chapter on that life of uncertainty. And to think just over 4 short years ago we were going through bankruptcy which lead me to start my coaching business. One thing I have most definitely learned throughout life is that trails bring blessings.

UPDATE ON PHOEBE'S FINGER

I've had a few questions and messages lately asking for an update on Phoebe's finger.

For those that may not know...during Christmas season we went ice skating as a family and my daughter Phoebe fell on the ice. I bent down to pick her up, only to see my ice skate had severed her pinky finger in half. A horrific accident.

We spent Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Years Day - a total of two weeks in Intensive Care at PHX Children's Hospital. She was confined to a bed as leeches were attached to her finger every hour to induce blood flow.

My flight lesson this morning was fun!

We stimulated taking off and landing in mud. It's called soft take offs and landings. Super helpful if there's snow or rain on the runway too. And then we practiced taking off pretending I need to fly high FAST to go over a building at the end of the runway. And practicing how it would be landing on a short runway. I did really good! I feel it's all clicking for me.

I've had a few things on my mind lately namely... How freaking UNCOMFORTABLE it can be to set goals.

Why is that? 

Well..... It's because that goal becomes a constant reminder that you want something that you don't have right now. Hello tension! 

I've noticed when people set goals they either work hard to ease that discomfort by moving CLOSER to their goals....

My BIG goal for the summer is to not let my kids go too long in between HEALTHY snacks during these hot summer months not only to really cut down on those sugar loaded frozen popsicles BUT to make sure they are getting the nutrients they need during the days... especially because they are sweating a lot in this heat. 

So I've been collecting ideas for easy, healthy & refreshing summer snacks for these sizzlin' days ahead. One thing I really want to focus on is easy enough for my kids to help prepare & easy as a grab & go as well.
